CLERICAL INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE
BANK OF INDIA
I was called for interview on 15th june at dhanbad.the venue was a bank of india zonal office.i reached
there at stipulated time.after verification of documents,we were directed to wait for our turn for
interview.being my first interview i was quite nervous.
When my turn came,up to opening the door and getting in,i was quite nervous...but i confidently get in
and asked for permission to come in..they nodded.i gently closed the door.
There were 5 members in the panel including a female member.
I wished them good morning with smile..
ME: Good morning to all you please..(with smile and looking at every member)
M1(INTERVIEWER AT CENTRE OF TABLE):good morning satyabrata..sit down
....Saying thanks i took seat
M1:so..tell about yourself
Me:sir,i m satyabrata singh from deoghar ,jharkhand.pursuing grad.in commerce.recently i have
appeared for my final yr.xams..results are awaiting.,did my matric from cbse and intermediate from
JAC.(jharkhand academic council)..sir,i am simple,hard working and resilient person.i m a person who
believes in priorities.i can interact with people well and hence i am fit to work in a group or team..
then i started mentioning about my hobbies..i said reading novels...i was stopped by M1..He asked
M1:what kind of novel s u read?
Me:sir,i have read all novels of chetan bhagat
M1:chetan bhagat has written just 5 books...any other
Me:sir,i have also read DAN BROWN’s novels like the vinci code,angels and demonds and deception
point.
M1:Ok..fine,satyabrata..everyone worried about monsoon delay..what is this monsoon..?
I was taken aback,didnt expecxt such an easy question..though i didnt know any definition..i simply said..
Me:sir.monsoon is something which brings rain after summer..beneficial for our agriculture and normal
life..i said that with a smile..interviewer too smiled at me..
M2:when was jharkhand got established???
Me:sir,15th november..
M1:do u know where is a hill station in jharkhand
Me:sir..in ranchi(capital of jkd)...?i said that with confusion
M1:yes..it is,but do u the name of that place
Me:no sir..sorry(with smile)
M3:what your father do?i replied
Then m1 urged female member to ask something
F1:so,u had biology in intermediate..i nodded
F1:what is the smallest unit of body?i replied ...cell
F1:which type of mosquitos causes malaria?i replied..plasomodium vivax..
F1:which mosquito bites humans?male or female?i replied..male
Again m1 resumed..
M1:so..what is financial inclusion?a lot of candidates answered this..how come u will define it?
Me:sir..it is process and plan by which large portion of isolated,weak and unpriviledged are provided
with the basic banking facilities at minimum cost.it has been tried to include this sections in the active
participation in the economy and inculcating the habits of deposit-withdrawl and other banking services.
(i answered this question by looking at every members in the panel)
M4:do u visit banks?i said yes
M4:what formal documents are needed to open an account?
Me: sir,a valid id proof,proof of address and signature or approval of a guaranteer,who has the
operating account in the bank for some years..(he shook his head in satisfaction)
M1:what is need of these documents?when u r depositing ur own money..why banks poses so much
formalities?
Me:sir..under the KYC norms of rbi..to prevent money laundering,smuggling and etc..
M1:how many bank exams u have appeared?
Me:sir..before this,i sat in indian bank and bank of india exam..but couldnt clear then..
M1:is this your first interview..?i replied yes..
M1:u can go now..saying thanks i left..
While leaving my seat,i noticed one of the panel,who asked nothing was looking at me from up to down..
I was the only candidate there with formal white shirt and black pant with a tie..there was no
other candidate wearing tie there..i am little apprehensive about that a liitle.had i dresses much or
