India The most optimistic market...

India has once again emerged as the most optimistic market, driven by its buoyant domestic consumption levels, but slowing growth and inflationary concerns could put pressure on consumer confidence for the year ahead, says a survey.
According to the latest global consumer confidence findings from Nielsen, a provider of information and insights into what consumers watch and buy, India remained the world's most optimistic market for the eighth consecutive quarter with a one point consumer confidence index increase to 122.India was followed by Indonesia and the Philippines at 117 in the list.To read more click here:BE Optimistic

CARE Advance Estimates for FY12

CARE Ratings has come out with its report on the FY12 GDP numbers. These advance estimates, based on the performance so far of key sectors, study of the government expenditure and the anticipated levels of production in agriculture and industry, also help highlight the extent of slowdown in the country's economic growth momentum.

• The growth in GDP at factor cost at constant prices (2004-05) during 2011-12 is estimated to be 6.9%, as against the 8.4% growth in the previous year.
• The agriculture sector is expected to grow by 2.5% this year compared with the 7% growth last fiscal.
• The manufacturing sector too is likely to see a decline in growth rate to 3.9% during 2011-12 from the 7.6% growth attained in 2010-11.
• The service sector is the only sector that is expected to register stable/marginal higher growth in the current financial year. The growth in trade, hotels, transport and communication sectors during 2011-12 is estimated to be 11.2% compared with the 11.1% growth in 2010-11
• Per capita income at constant prices (2004-05) is likely to grow at 5.6% during 2011-12 to Rs.38,005 and the same at current prices is estimated to growth by 14.3% to Rs. 60,972.
•  Private consumption as show by the rate of Private Final Consumption Expenditure (PFCE) at constant prices is likely to decline by 0.6% to 58.1 % of GDP at market prices in 2011-12
• The rate of investment as seen in Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF) at constant prices is estimated to decline to 31.9% of GDP at market prices in 2011-12 from 32.5% in 2010-11.

Impact on Fiscal Deficit

It is now certain that the government would be unable to meet the fiscal deficit target set out in the FY12 budget of 4.6% of GDP. Although, the government had envisaged borrowing to the tune of Rs.4.17 trillion for the fiscal, owing to revenue and disinvestment short falls and increases in expenditure the government announced additional borrowing to the tune of Rs.90,000 crs, taking total borrowing for the year to Rs.5.07 trillion. Going by the advance estimates of GDP at market prices for 2011-12, the fiscal deficit for 2011-12 now works out to 5.68% of GDP.

CARE's view on GDP growth in 2012-13

Based on the present conditions and growth levels, it is expected under conditions of stable inflation at 5%, cautious fiscal deficit with some incentives for investment, lowering of interest rates by 100-150 bps during the year, GDP growth could gradually move towards 7.5% in FY13. 

New Corporation Bank ED

Mr Amar Lal Daultani, General Manager of Allahabad Bank, has assumed charge as Executive Director of Corporation Bank with effect from February 3.

The bank informed the BSE on Saturday that the Central Government, after consultation with the Reserve Bank of India, has appointed Mr Amar Lal Daultani, General Manager, Allahabad Bank, as Executive Director of the Corporation Bank with effect from the date of his taking over charge of the post till March 31, 2015 (the date of his superannuation), or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Accordingly, Mr Daultani has assumed office as the Executive Director of the bank on February 3, it informed BSE.

ItzCash, IDBI Bank and MasterCard launch multi-purpose Freedom Prepaid Card

Itz Cash Card in association with IDBI Bank and MasterCard, has launched Freedom Prepaid Card, India's first re-loadable multi-purpose co-branded prepaid card. 
The Freedom Prepaid Card is a multi-purpose card that will serve as an alternative to cash transactions done at retail touch points, which are equipped with PoS terminals. The card is primarily targeted at certain sections of the society, particularly youth, who prefer to pay for goods and services using cash. The card can be purchased at any ItzCash World (ICW) outlet,after completing a one-time registration. Cardholders can then use the Freedom Prepaid Card to make purchases in stores, pay bills and book tickets online, as well as withdraw cash at any ATM that accepts MasterCard. The Freedom Prepaid Card provides convenience, security, and enables cardholders to better manage their cash. As a co-branded product, the card will carry the logos of IDBI Bank and Itz Cash.

Friends all those out there thinking of what to face in interview just an advice for them Prepare your basics...
I know you know that but still it is my responsibility to tell you what is required or what is good for you..I am telling you since i have come to know that Preparing basics is foremost think on should do..Whatever stream you belong to, just prepare basics of that stream or the last think you have studied...For freshers Academics matters a lot ...Try to think those questions which can be asked from your stream..I know telling this will not help you alone but again its not possible for me to post several questions for different streams together..Any way i will try to post questions for Commerce students ,,till then you use the time provided to you to Prepare your Basics
Apart from this be aware of whats currently going on in the economy...how that's related to banking sector as a whole....Hope to post questions related to economy..
